Podcast studio near Manchester, minus the city-centre hassle

Love Manchester, hate the parking? Here's why plenty of Manchester hosts record south of the city in the Cheshire countryside instead.

Manchester's got some brilliant studios. It's also got the Mancunian Way at 5pm, £20 car parks and the joy of lugging a guest's bags through a city-centre office block.

If that sounds familiar, here's an alternative: drive south, come off the M6 at Junction 18, and record somewhere that actually feels calm.

Why Manchester hosts come out to Cheshire

01You can park

Free parking, on site, right outside the door. Your guests arrive relaxed instead of fuming about a parking app. That shows on camera.

02It's quieter, and it shows

City studios do a great job of soundproofing, but nothing beats being on a farm in the middle of the countryside. Calm space, calm guests, better conversations.

03Same kit, better price

A two-hour session with a producer in central Manchester typically runs around £250 before editing. Here it's £225 for two hours with a videographer, multi-camera filming included. A finished, edited episode with three reels is £325.

04You can step outside

Courtyard, garden, open fields. Walk-and-talk videos, natural-light photos, fresh air between takes. Try finding that off Deansgate.

Same quality kit. None of the city-centre faff.

Getting here from Manchester

Head south on the M56 and M6 and come off at Junction 18 for Holmes Chapel. We're five minutes from the junction, so it's an easy run from South Manchester, Stockport, Altrincham or Wilmslow, and you're driving against the rush-hour traffic.
